Nor'Easter
Updated: Sep 28
The trip isn’t going quite go as planned. The nor’easter had other ideas, and suddenly there was nowhere to go but… home (or in this case, the B&B in Mystic, CT).
So I stayed inside, finished my book, and ate the rest of last night’s salad and pizza. Honestly? Not a bad way to spend an extremely windy and rainy day.
And it reminded me that sometimes a rest day is exactly what we need and exactly what I took. We may struggle a bit with a case of the shoulds. I should go, I should see, I should be doing something!
But what if we let those shoulds get washed away with the rain or better yet, blown away in the gusts of wind? What if, instead, we tried no rushing, no lists, no guilt—just some extra time to slow down, recharge, and let your body be still?.
Maybe your rest day includes finishing a book and eating leftovers. Maybe it’s a cup of tea, a nap (did I mention I took one?) or simply watching the rain from the warmth of a B&B.Not every day needs to be productive.
Sometimes, staying in is the practice. Especially when there’s a nor’easter.
Stay warm, stay cozy, and we’ll see you on the mat when you’re ready.
