Eek - it's October!
On my recent road trip up north, I got to see the very beginning of the fall colors emerge — slowly shifting from green to gold, orange, and red. That little bit of red among all the green was phenomenal! Such a beautiful contrast.
My favorite was the hillsides. They looked like a patchwork quilt, with each tree adding its own little splash of color.
While not always easy, it reminded me that change can be both natural and necessary.
Trees don’t hold onto what they’ve outgrown, so why should we? They simply let go, making space for what comes next. It’s not easy but we can do the same whether it’s a drawer that needs emptied, a persistent thought of something else. Our practice offers us that very invitation. Through movement, breath, and stillness, we can soften our grip, release tension, and let go of what we no longer need to carry physically, mentally and spiritually.
This October, let’s step onto our mats with the changing season in mind. Once we are there we can: breathe in, let go, make space for what’s next.
Here’s to embracing change, trusting the process, and moving into this new season with intention. If you know anyone else who would like to join us, please forward this e-mail to them. See you on the mat
